Plans Without Direction

We are all faced with troubles in our lives, some greater than others. But after the smoke clears we all struggle with the same affliction.

That is the inability to know where to go or what to do after adversity has passed. Do we go in a different direction, do we believe that we have triumphed and continue to down the path thinking that we are strong enough to make it through this time around.

Which way to choose?

We often take the next step without consulting God on the matter at hand, we often leave him out of every decision that we make going to him as the last resort, when “all else fails” we then turn to him saying Lord, you’re all that’s left, when in fact it should be the other way around. When and how do we recognize that the way is shut and or the door is closed. We should examine ourselves from a distance to see if we lack the ability to  hear the heart of God.

The book of Isaiah 30:1-5 has incite on this subject, the word says

“Woe to the rebellious children, those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance but not by my spirit, heaping sin upon sin”

This word rings true with all things we do in life, we often make plans of grand stature without allowing God the place in our plans that he deserves. This is the greatest fallacy of man, because or best laid plans often go awry. Because here is what is says in the good book:

“I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not in himself, Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps.”

The end result of that statement is, the Lord is in FULL control, so don’t fight it, let him lead, it can only turn out for your well being! We have to remember to take a step to the side and allow the Divine Orchestrator to divulge his plan for our lives.

I have come to remind you, that let’s not lean on what we think is knowledge and truth, but instead what God says is knowledge and truth. Jesus came and with his all truths, and he has revealed it. Went to prepare a place and has left with us the Holy Spirit: the comforter who whispers to us the right thing to do. He is willing to give us direction in life, but we have to stop trying to treat God as the last resort when we are faced with an issue. Instead let’s make a more conscious effort in this the year 2009 to include God in every decision that we make, not just the big ones and not just at the very end.

So might say this is a bit hard to remember but, all these things become easier with practice. We challenge you to put God to the test, for the bible tells us to “Test Everything”, and why not!? This is a free pass to question everything and put it to the test, who passed up an opportunity to prove a point. The whole idea behind this is to try the Lord.

Sometimes we have to clear the room so to speak of all the things that distract us and are shouting over the voice of the Holy Spirit. He whispers life to us but often times we are too busy to hear, or too caught up in business to the contrary. So our advice to you is to SHUT UP! and LISTEN!!
